Some factors including proportion of different wood species, different adhesive species, adhesive content and wax content, pressing parameters such as pressing temperature, pressure and pressing speed, effecting some basic properties of MDF——thickness expansion rate of water absorbing (TS), modulus of rupture (MOR), modulus of elasticity (MOE) and internal bond strength (IB) were investigated in the research. The aim of test is that supplying technological help for the development of MDF.The experimental results of proportion of different wood species effecting some basic properties of MDF showed that when the proportion between polar and other species was 10:0, 8:2 and 5:5, TS of MDF was respectively 7.21%,7.51% and8.15%, MOR of MDF was respectively 40.8MPa, 44.1MPa and 48.2MPa, MOE of MDF was respectively 3970MPa, 4120MPa and 4486MPa, IB of MDF was respectively 1.19MPa, 1.35MPa and 1.50MPa. The optimum proportion of between polar and other species was 5:5 in the research.It came to experimental results in the test of different adhesive species, adhesive content and wax content effecting some basic properties of MDF that MDF properties of adhesive B were better than that of adhesive A and C. For three adhesive species, for example, MOE values of MDF were respectively 4324MPa,4395MPa and 4343MPa. When adhesive content was 16%, MDF properties were better than that of adhesive content 8%, 12% and 20%. For instance, MOR values of MDF were respectively 35.2MPa,40.1MPa,48.6MPa和43.2MPa. In the test of wax content, the properties of MDF were best when wax content was 1.6%. The IB of MDF were respectively 1.58MPa, 1.58MPa, 1.54MPa, 1.19MPa, 1.05MPa.In the experiment of pressing parameters such as pressing temperature, pressure and pressing speed, effecting some basic properties of MDF, it came to results that comprehensively taking into accountant all properties——TS, MOR, MOE and IB, the optimum pressing technology was pressing temperature 200℃, pressing speed 520mm/s and pressure 3.5MPa.According to preliminary analysis, it was feasible for controlling MDF properties and factors effecting MDF qualities to use method of statistics and MATLAB in the process. For some factors such as MOR, MOE, TS and IB effecting MDF qualities in the process, MOE of MDF was the main factor which was easer to be solved. But other factors were the important factors need to be controlled.
