With the enrichment of the social substance, people have more expectation for the performance of products. NC(Numerical Control)Engraving Machine is moving in the direction of broader application, meanwhile, consumers pay close attention to its cost performance. As the core of the NC Engraving Machine, the control system plays a pivotal role, its performance will affect the machining efficiency and quality directly. So, it's a top priority to develop a high performance and high cost performace control system.After some analysis of the status quo and tendency of domestic and oversea Engraving Machines, as well as certain research on embedded system and engraving technique, an idea (using embedded system as the Engraving Machine's control system) came out. Software and hardware were designed in order to meet the need of the system's functions. LPC2214 microprocessor was used as the kernel of the control system, most of software and hardware were designed modularly. The main modules consist of Basic Control Module, Communication Module, Man-machine Interaction Module, Interpolation Module, Velocity Control Module, Motor Control Module, Memory Module and Debug Module etc.. Further more,μC/OS-II real time operating system was transplanted, which was used to manage and attemper all the software modules, so as to accomplish the expectant functions.
