The consumption of unburnt pulverized coal in Blast Furnace, the distribution of pulverized coal in Blast Furnace and the economic pulverized coal injection combined with production data at Baoshan I&S Corp. has been studied in this paper.In the paper, the great quantitative difference between unburnt pulverized coal and coke has been found in reaction of ferrous directive reduction, non-ferrous directive reduction, gasification of carbon, pig iron cementite and carbon sediment in slag. The reactive ability of unburnt pulverized coal in reaction of ferrous directive reduction, non-ferrous directive reduction, gasification of carbon, pig iron cementite and carbon sediment in slag is obviously better than that of coke. Under the presently production and technical conditions, when the coal ratio is 230kg/t, about 68.74% of pulverized coal burned on the raceway, about 12.38% of pulverized coal consumed in ferrous directive reduction, about 1% in non-ferrous directive reduction, about 3.38% in gasification of carbon, about 12.20% in pig iron cementite, about 0.22% in carbon sediment in slag, about 0.77% in top dust and about 1.39% in top gas mud.Utilizing calculative method and system of Baoshan I&S Corp., taking into account the influence of processing parameters such as coal ratio, hot blast temperature, slag to iron ratio, the oxygen enriched ratio in the blast, the carbon content of pulverized coal, the humidity of blast, the silicon content in pig iron, the ash content in coke, the FeO content in sinters, the clinker aggregate rate, the gas utilization rate and the carbon loss in the dust on the economic profit of pulverized coal injection into Blast Furnace, the pulverized coal injection production data in Baoshan I&S Corp. has been analyzed and calculated, and the mathematical relation of pig iron cost to coal ratio has been found. Through the mathematical relation, the economic pulverized coal injection at Baoshan I&S Corp. blast furnace under presently technical conditions can be calculated. Under presently raw materials and fuel, with 1248℃of the hot blast, 214kg/t of the slag to iron ratio and 3% of the oxygen enriched ratio in the blast, the economic pulverized coal injection is about 221~231kg/t at Baoshan I&S Corp. Blast Furnace.
