The Application Of The NC Technology In Roll Grinding Machine

The roll grinding machine is used for grinding the roll which participate the steel rolling to certain accuracy. For the character of modern steel production is automatic, continuous and accurate, the requirement of the roll grinding machine is to grind a roll toμm lever in the shortest time. The demand is hardly to satisfy through manual work, so the numerical control technology is widely used and still updating for the roll grinding machine.The content of this paper is as follow:1) Introduces the characters of modern NC technology, and mainly introduces the characters, system frame, functions of SINUMERIK 840D, industrial PC and software, profibus.2) Explains the mission of NC system of roll grinding machine. Analyses and compares the NC systems of the mainly roll grinding machine manufacturer.3) Introduces the revamping of roll grinding machines in Baosteel. Explains the system frame and characters of NC system. Evaluates the effects of revamping and the solution of certain problems.
