As the raw material of many products, the rolled steels trip can be used in many fields such as automobile manufacturing, packaging, construct material etc. With the development of the society, the requirements of the output and quality of cold-rolled steel strip become higher and higher. Steel strip thickness accuracy is one of the two quality performances of the sheet material, and gauge control is one of the two key technologies in the rolling field. Therefore, it is important to research automatic gauge control system (AGC) of rolling mill deeply and to apply intelligent control algorithms to it.First, based on the curve of mill elastic deformation and the curve of strip plastic deformation, this thesis analyzes the influence of various interference factors on the strip exit gauge.The operating principles and control algorithms of the fundamental AGC systems are summarized.According to the mathematical model of electric-hydraulic position control system, aiming at the requirements of fast response, high control precision and high anti-interference performance of the hydraulic AGC system, the NN identification PID controller is adopted to the AGC control system. The simulation results show good dynamic characteristic of the NN identification PID control method. This method has high robust ness and fast responsibility and steady state precision. The practicality of this method is quite good.Finally, the whole research work is concluded, the other problems in AGC control algorithms are analyzed and the research direction in the future is described in this thesis.
