The Research And Implementation Of ServoWorks-based CNC System Software For Engraving And Milling Machine

Along with the development of modern processing and manufacturing industries, the engraving and milling machine which can do fine carving as well as cutting and milling develops greatly. Although the engraving and milling machine products has been developed maturely in the foreign country, in domestic it developed greatly just recent one or two years, several domestic manufacturers are at trial production phase.The open architecture CNC system meets the request of the users on more flexible, smart and common, it is the direction of modern CNC system. ServoWorks General Motion Control is truly PC-based motion control system produced by SoftServo, it is a typical software-based motion controller product. The CNC software of sotware-based motion controller all installs in one computer. The whole CNC hardware is only the computer and the standard general interface between servo and external I/O, the cost of hardware is low, the system has open architecture. User can develop the CNC system which meets their request on Windows platform.The target of this project is to design and implement the ServoWorks based on CNC system software of engraving and milling machine on Windows platform. At last, transplant the CNC system software of engraving and milling machine to Windows XP Embedded platform.The first chapter of this paper introduces features, current situation and development of engraving and milling machine. The second chapter gives a brief description of CNC. The third chapter introduces the design and implementation of ServoWorks-based CNC System Software for Engraving and Milling Machine, which is the most important part of the paper.The fourth chapter introduces the Windows XP Embedded system, the process of operating system cut out, and transplant the CNC system to XPE system.
