Many interests have been focused on substituted 1,2,4-triazole ligands because of their rich coordination modes, and their complexes not only possessing special optic, magnetic properties but also behaving as photonic-electronic conductor. For example their Fe2+ complexes have potential application in molecular device, which have attracted so many chemists. The conformation, angle of flexible ligands are easily modified when their self-assembly with metal ions. The influence of the environment conditions can alter the structure of the coordination polymers, thus, it is difficult to predict the structure of final compound. So they can construct various, novel supramoleculer structures and will open a new field of the supramoleculer chemistry. In the work, we reported ten coordination polymers with flexible ligand 1,4-bis(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butane(btb),and transition metal cations Zn(Ⅱ),Cd(Ⅱ),Cu(Ⅱ)namely,[Zn(btb)0.5(btec)0.5(H2O)](H2O)(1),Zn[(btb)(H2O)4] [Zn(btb(b tc)]2·4H2O(2),[Cd2(O-phth)2(btb)(H2O)3](H2O)4.5(3),[Cd2(btec)(btb)3](H2O)10(4),{[Cd(btb) 3]PF6}n(5) ,[Cu(btb)2(H2O)2(NO3)2](6) ,[Cu(btb)2(H2O)2](ClO4)2(7) ,[Cu(btb)2Cl2](8), [Cu(btb)2(O-phth)] (9) , [Cu(HCOO)2(H2O)2(btb)] (10) .The ten compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis,IR Spectra, luminescence analyses,thermogravi-metric analyses and X-ray crystallography, their synthesis are also fully described in this thesis. It shows flexible ligand as a bridge to connect two centers and form one-dimensional chain, two-dimensional network structure or three-dimensional structure, the flexible ligand may change itself conformation to form stable complexes.
