With manufacturing global competition intensifying, corporations are facing a dynamic changing market environment, clients require the "Individuational" products in the shortest possible time, for the sake of facilitating the rapid and economical response to the changes of market demand. RMS can rapidly forms batch production capacity of renovating product, so it has became a hot topic in the 21st, RMT is a very important part of RMS, and its research has decisive significance to RMS. Supported by Shaanxi Province Education Department's Special scientific foundation project (02JK218), computer-aided RMT kinematical function plan design is researched in this thesis, including: descripting processed feature of parts,planning process for RMS's parts,synthesizing and designing for RMT kinematical function plan,implementing the prototype software system of RMT kinematical function plan design, and its applications.First, orient-layer descripton is adopted to express orient information of part feature, and via establishing part feature information model, information database of cutting tool and processed surfaces is planned. Then, principles of planning process for RMS's parts are established, via disconnecting and merging , process routes for RMS's parts are planned, and computing means of processing time and take time(TT) are researched. Based on the information model,information database and parts' process plan, synthesizing and designing for RMT kinematical function plan are researched, and changing means of RMT movements are established, synthesizing means of RMT kinematical function for three typical process plan are researched , and preliminary evaluation principles of RMT kinematical function plan are put forward. Based on designing means of RMT kinematical function plan, prototype software system of RMT kinematical function plan design is developed. Last, the method proposed in this thesis is validated by some examples, and showing that it is a new way of designing method for RMT kinematical function plan.
