With the quickening of urbanization and rapidly improving of consumption, daily output of municipal solid waste is rising. For Qingdao Xiao-Jianxi municipal refuse disposal plant, the amount of municipal solid waste is up to nearly 3,000 ton per day, and landfill leachate is 500 tons. As total amount of waste and leachate still strengthen constantly, the capacity-expansion and re-design are already extremely urgent.This study testifies the leachate scale, the pollutant indexes of different wastes treatment methods, and compares the possible leachte treatment systems and methods. Furthermore, this study gives a suggestive applicable and reliable construction plan for the scientific reference of project decision.This study is both a practical and theoretical job, and during the study process, the combined method of theory with practice is used. Large numbers of real data are collected, and relative experimentations are done. Thus this study bases on the first hand materials, through scientifically analysis and study reach the right conclusion, and does some improvement into theoretical discussion. The whole research stands mainly on Qingdao domestic waste sanitary landfill site with lots of field work, and at the same time cooperates with the relative governmental departments and research institutes. International comparative methods. Many countries in the world have done large amounts of research about the solid waste leachate treatment, and have made many experimental analysis and assessments about the production amount of leachate and its contents. Therefore, this research program compares the different methods in the world, and tries to find the best and applicable leachate treatment method in Qingdao.After the calculation, the processing scales of the landfill leachate in Qingdaois around 1000m~3/d. According to the principles of waste water processing technology and combined with the common landfill leachate technology, we result in the technique of "Ammonia stripping + MBR Membrane bio-reactor + Nanofiltration + Reverse Osmosis" . This technology has apparent advantages in skills, environment protection, project construction and operation fees. The main strong points are as follows: the steady quality of processed water, high processing efficiency, less remaing sludge, no stench pollution, simple processing technology, low need of management, low fees of project construction and operation, and high adapbility with the changes of the quality and quanty of water. And in the end we decide to use the "Ammonia stripping + MBR Membrane bio-reactor + Nanofiltration + Reverse Osmosis" technology to guarantee the effluent quality reaches I -class criteria specified in GB8978-1996.The former 200 m~3/d leachate processing equipment is added with Ammonia stripping before the MBR processing to reduce the ammonia and nitrogen content. The Ammonia stripping and absorption system are constructed at the first stage of the project. And according with the weather condition in Qingdao, MBR is designed with heat preservation to guarantee the normal operation in winter.
