The exploitation of fault block reservoir is very important in China. The dominant position of the fault block reservoir in the fault basin of eastern china. The fault block reservoir reserves have reached fifty percent in Sinopec. Because of fault development and size shape, the exploitation of fault block reservoir is very difficulty. So it's very significant to study the suitable well pattern arrangement of fault block reservoir.This article studied the well pattern arrangement in two steps. First, according to the research on the size and shape of fault block reservoir, the jiangsu oilfield is classified. Second, the size and shape of reservoir determinate the type and scale of well-pattern and using numerical simulation method to optimize well pattern. The concrete study content is as follows: well pattern and water drive way of fault block reservoir, relationship between rock permeability and well spacing under different reservoir type, Oil-water transition zone impact water drive way, development effect of well pattern under rock permeability with banding distribution, case study of zhou43 fault block reservoir use numerical simulation method. The rules from optimized results is as follows: the effect of horizontal well application is better than the effect of vertical well application, water drive way choice outer edge water drive and oil well to injection, the optimum well spacing increases with rock permeability increases, the development effect of reverse rhythm is better than the development effect of positive rhythm reservoir under the same well-pattern, the optimum well spacing of reverse rhythm is shorter than the optimum well spacing of positive rhythm reservoir, the development effect of inner edge water drive is better when the viscosity of oil-water transition zone increase, oil well place inner and water well place on the oil-water boundary when reservoir have slope and edge water.
