Hot-forging die is an important equipment in forging industry, in the course of their work, they should bear the cyclical heat load and mechanical load at the same time. These two loads will produce thermal stress and mechanical stress. Predecessors' research found the thermal stress which produced by the variation of temperature field was the main cause of the failure and damage of the Hot Forging Die. In order to extend the service life of Hot Forging Die, we have to resolve the problem of thermal stress.In this paper, I analyzed the elements that affect on the size of the thermal stress of the hot forging dies, found that the changing of the thermal field affect thermal stress. The main impact including craft parameter and physics parameter of material (including elastic modulus, linear expansion coefficient of thermal conductivity and heat capacity) . As the influence of the hot forging dies' physics parameter of a certain sum up the predecessors. However using different type of materials to do simulate and compare, analyzing how the different elements affect on the thermal field and the stress field hasn't cause the peoples' attention yet.The writer took the vehicle's front wheel hot forging dies as the prototype, using DEFORM-2D finite element software as tools, emulated different materials' hot forging dies, got the continuous work thermal fields and stress fields of different physical parameters. Defined the hot forging dies continuous work to balance as the temperature field of the balance condition. Balanced condition's stress fields is the continues work stress fields.Contrast simulation of the physical parameters of different materials, the simulation results of the wheels' hot forging dies' thermal fields testified that: Young's modulus and linear expansion coefficient of the curve on the whole shift on forging die integrated stress the impact of the forging die in the performance of the geometry (such as volume and size) changes, thus affecting the integrated stress of the hot forging dies. The rising of the curve of thermal conductivity and heat capacity affected the forging dies integrated stress mainly on the heat exchanging process and cause the forging dies' internal thermal gradient changes, made the different materials shows the different thermal fields and finally affect the integrated stress on the forging dies.Through a large number of simulated test and analyze, this paper turned the physical parameters affected the performance of the hot forging die's theory more distinct, so it could provide an effective basis for the following hot forging die's functional gradient materials research. We believe it will help improving service life of Hot Forging Die a lot.
