Plastic Poly Lactic Acid (PLA) is polymerized from material which derived from regenerating plants such as maize by means of fermentation among microorganism.PLA can be safely used, and can be degraded in nature. It is new green environmental protection macromolecule stuff.The shape and structure, Physical and mechanical performance, and chemcal characteristics of PLA fiber are studied. Environment protection, absorbability to human body, and feebleness to high temperature are dicussed.Spining and weaving technology of PLA fiber are discussed. The problems that PLA fiber are easier to elongate and can not endure high temperature and alkali in spining and weaving are solved. Appropriate blending ratio of PLA and cotton is concluded.It can not only retain PLA fiber performance but also reduce cost effectively. Technology of weaving, dyeing and finishing are studied.Enzymatic desizing is adoptted.Two difference types of fiber characteristics are considered in dyeing. Middle temperature and low alkali are kept in dyeing.At first, PLA is dyed by disperse dyes. Then reactive dye is used to dye cotton fiber.To study durability, comfort, and shape stability, PLA/C50/50 fabric is designed, woven, and compared with T/C and cotton fabrics which have an approximate specification. It proves that PLA/C50/50 fabric has an excellent wearability. The study and development of PLA/C50/50 fabric established a good basis to further development of green textiles.
