This thesis conducted a study on the cutter body milling technology of high speed face milling tools in five axis maching centre. This technology put a foundation for the development of high speed cutting tools'cutter body maching technique. Further more such a technology can parameterize the cutter body maching techique and is of practical meaning.This thesis generally introduced a up to date developing state and trend of high speed tools. It made a full description of the advantage of five axis numerical centre in machining curved face and structure feature of cutter body of high speed face milling tool. This thesis made a further study on cutter body machining strategy of high speed face milling tools. The main points of this thesis are as follow:This thesis studied interference problem occurred in curved face maching process and inspection approach for interference problem. Then the mathematical model was built for interference inspection of cutting tools. The gained mathematical model provided a theoretical basis to analyze interference problem.Aiming at unexpansion feature of ruled surface in cutter body of high speed face milling tools, this thesis used"deflecting centre point of tool and offseting cutter shaft"approach to machine surface of cutter body. This thesis deduced a calculation formula for cutter spacing solving, gave a mathematical error model of unexpansion ruled surface maching. This thesis also studied the maching feature of expansion ruled surface, set up a residual height error model for expansion ruled surface, analyzed maching feature of ruled surface using tapered milling tools, and got a model to compute shape and position errors in expansion ruled surface maching using tapered milling tools. As to free surface maching for cutter body of high speed face milling tools, this thesis put forward a calculation model for cutter spacing in five axis numerical maching centre and a mathematical model to analyze linear interpolation errors and step error in free surface maching(with rose cutter).Under above basis, this thesis studied maching approach for cutter body structure of high speed face milling tools. Aiming at error and interference problem occurred in the maching process of cutter body, this thesis developed a cutter body chip flute and blade pocket technique. This thesis conducted a inerference inspection using UG/CAM function. Results shows the achieved research results are valuable to improve cutter body maching standard of high speed face milling tools.
