The technology of cement processing with preheater and calciner is the most advanced technology at present in cement industry. Calciner is the most important equipment of the cement industry. The function of calciner affects the stabilization and the capability of system. In order to probe its interior rules and get instructive information for systematic nosis, optimization of system design and systematical combination, and developing new technology, this paper focuses on the calciner system as subject, establishing the mathematical model of the coal burning rate and the decomposing rate of carbonate. The mathematical model is verified by some existing systems. A series of simulation experiments are carried out and some corresponding rules among some system parameters and the main performances of the system are obtained.The numerical simulation based on the Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) is applied widely in the engineering field due to its accurate numerical prediction for the flow, heat exchange, chemistry reaction and multiphase flow. So numerical simulation on the turbulence flow is adopted to investigate the flow character in the calciner to optimize system structure and improve system performance.
