At present,the active demand for oil field both at home and abroad is to solve the problem of the oily sludge treatment. The reduction, harmlessness and resource utilization of oily sludge become the standards to completely evaluate the merits and faults of the methods of oily sludge treatments. In this article, the pyrolysis technology is used to treat oily sludge. At the premise of reduction and harmlessness, the hydrocarbon resources of oily sludge is reused. Through the experiment, the final pyrogenation temperature and the optimal temperature gradient for pyrolysis are established. The hydrocarbon content and other parameters of oily sludge are calculated. Under the base of experiment, The vertical intermittent cracking furnace, the chain board transport based cracking furnace and the horizontal screw-type propelment cracking furnace are designed for oily sludge treatments. After analyzing the advantage and drawbacks of the three furnaces, the last is selected as the physical model of numerical calculation to simulate the thermal condition of oily sludge. The single material model and the components transport model are used to obtain the distribution figure of temperature field in the furnace, when the velocity of the inlet changing between 0.0001 m/s to 0.1m/s. The analysis shows that the second model can make a better description of the process of oily sludge pyrolysis. It is because the impact of mass transfer on energy movements is concerned in the second method. Using the components transport model, the temperature distribution figure at 773.15K is obtained, while the optimal inlet speed and the size of cracking furnace is confirmed. After gaining the energy through the surface of the furnace, energy exhaust and economical evaluation is done to the oily sludge treatment. The results show that the pyrolysis technology not only can solve the problem of oily sludge treatments, but also can benefit to the economy and society.
