As one of the most important equipments in drill hoist system, oil derrick's function is to bestow overhead travelling crane, and to hang tackle, hoisting hook and special tools. Its security is important to secure production of the whole drill system, so it is brought into the item of appraising drill-system's security. For the most derricks have been working for years in vile condition in the open, and as the process of teardown- transportation- installation is increasing, oil derrick is damaged locally or holistically, which affects derrick's carrying capacity designed formerly and becomes hidden trouble of accidents in secure production. In order to avoid the disaster, more scholars and engineers regard the technique of discriminating the damage of oil derrick exactly.This article expatiates the study actuality and developing current of configuration-damage-discrimination technique, introduces various theories and methods of configuration-damage-discrimination technique, and balances these methods when applied in damage discrimination. For damage location and degree of JJ160/41-K oil derrick, this article advances two-step discrimination means based on mode parameters and SVM: Firstly based on mode parameters, damage location of derrick is discriminated with flexility matrix; and then, regarding flexility curvature difference as discrimination index, an analysis on known-damage-location derrick is done with SVM. With finite element software ANSYS9.0 and calculation software MATLAB7.0, mode analysis theory is connected with SVM method, which is applied to damage discrimination of derrick, meanwhile damage location and degree of oil derrick are discriminated. Analyzing the discriminated results, this discrimination method studied by this article can acquire more satisfying effect.The study of this method is inosculated with engineering. This method brings in a rising mode discrimination tool-SVM, which is connected with mode parameters ,and this two-step discrimination method provides a new approach for the discrimination and forecast of structure damage, and has favorable application foreground and spread value in derrick damage.
