Along the development of petroleum industry, the quantity of seamless steel tube and the request to the assortment and specification become large. Based on the existing situation of the producing of seamless steel tube in and out of abroad, it is the main deformation equipment of hot rolling seamless steel tube production of slight-stretch reducing mill, it made the reducing and sizing came true of pierced billet in the state of slight-stretch to get the finished tube of multi type. The three roller was adopted of the the frame structure of modern slight-stretch reducing mill, it had merits in increasing the size accuracy and surface finish and assure the quality of the production of tube. On base of summing up the existing situation of steel tube slight-stretch reducing technique and combined with the quantity field producing experience and data, the reducing deformation principle of slight-stretch reducing, including:(1) According to the technological parameter overall that the steel tube reducing in slight-stretch unit needed and using the experience formula the physical dimension and pass producing parameters of each pass were designed, and the initial condition that the steel tube forming need was given.(2) Using the method of analytic geometry, on base of the practical producing requests and combined with the research finding of modern deformation principle, the calculating method of the related technological parameter in the process of steel tube sizing and reducing. And it was used in practical steel tube slight-stretch reducing production.(3) Using the data of experiment field collection, the pass size and technological parameter was analyzed and corrected. And according to the empirical formula, the data detected, adjusted experiment and regularity, the mathematical model of steel slight-stretch reducing was built, checked and perfected. (4) On base of the producing practice of steel tube, the'pass design system of slight-stretch reducing mill'and the'speedy system calculating system of slight-stretch reducing mill'that used in centralized differential drive system was developed, and used in the practical production and equipment design. It got the good appraisal of steel tube producing manufacture and tension reducing designers because of the easy to use, convenience, accuracy and reliability of it. The modular design was used in the software system, the transportability of the source code was come true, and the re-develop space was supplied to the calculating software. The process of the sizing and reducing mill technology design was simplified, the periodic of equipment and technological design was shorted, the possibility of the error of human in the process of design was deduced, and the reliability of technological parameter design was increased because of the application of the two calculating software.In a word, the theoretical research of the process of slight-stretch reducing deformation was combined with the producing practical of modern steel tube, the deformation principle of the process of slight-stretch reducing was researched, the technological calculating software that can used in practical producing was regimented, and the theoretical basis and practical guide to the control of steel tube wall thickness variation in the production of steel tube slight-stretch sizing and reducing.
