On the background of the economy and trading globalization, the competition between the industries is more and more heavily. To hold the initiative position in the competition, the mold enterprises must consider how to develop products more quickly, but the grade higher, the cost lower. So it is a necessary development trend that the mold design will be collaborative by network, integrative and parallel in the future. This thesis puts forward that it is a useful way that applying the collaborative design system on mold development. By the collaborative design system different mold enterprises or work teams can cooperate easily and high effectively.The architecture of MDWfSystem–a collaborative design system platform based on workflow-net–is given in this thesis. With the support of this platform, different enterprises or work teams which may be in different places can work collaboratively by network. Process model is the core of the workflow model. It is usually established by expert or professional at the beginning of mold development, but the establishment of process model is a time-consuming activity. However, the process model may be inconsistent with the actual business process because not only the subjectivity of process affected by established people, but also many changes in the mold development. So the thesis gives a way that applying the process mining to the establishment of the process model. There are the ways of how to establish process models, by professional people or by process mining. We can coordinate the two ways with each other, and that can greatly improve the accuracy of the process model. The workflow-net based on Petri-net is chosen to establish the mold development process, but the function of traditional workflow-net is not powerful, so it is expanded in color, time and hierarch to meet the needs of establishment of the process model. The expanded workflow-net is called high level workflow-net. On this basis, this thesis establishes the process model based on high level workflow-net of mold development. The paper also checks the syntax of the mold development process model, and analyzes the performance of time, resource utilization and cost of the model. Finally the paper simulates the process model by CPN Tools, and optimizes the mold development process model fatherly.It is an inevitable trend that the manufacturing factories will cooperate with each other to develop products by network. If the collaborative design is reasonably applied to mold development, it can greatly improve the competitiveness of mold enterprises. The simulation and the analysis of performance of time, resource utilization and cost of the mold development process model can play an important guiding role in mold development.
