Cationic polymeric dispersant is more and more important because of its characters. This kind of dispersant can be adsorbed in fibres or other kinds of materials because of its positive charge. It can be used for sterilization, anlistatig and waxinessIn this paper , using styrene, 4-vinylpyridine, acrylamide and methacryloloxyethyl t rimethylammonium chloride (DMC) as raw materials, a family of dispersants(PVAD , PSAD , PSVD) with different anchors was synthesized by solution radical polymerization. FTIR and NMR analysis were used to characterize the polymer structures, the intrinsic viscosity and the percent of hydrophilic moieties were also studied. The effect of copolymers is different when the anchor of copolymer and pigment are different. The results show that the PVAD is disagreement of the standard of dispersant . When apply to PO34 , the PSAD and PSVD have no differences . Appling PSAD and PSVD to PR245 , the PSVD is better than PSAD.Benzene and pyridyl are similar, but they are different in many properties because of one of C atom in benzene is substituted by N atom, having two electrons do not participate in conjugated system, which provide possibility to form hydrogen bond with amino group. We know some pigments have amino groups (NH), such as PR 245,. So there may be exist hydrogen bond between these pigment and pyridyl.PSAD , is useful to non polar pigment because of being styrene as anchor . But to the weak polar pigment , the multi anchors is excellent because the different anchors are cooperate with each other .
