Most companies in our country manufacture the spoke of vehicle wheel by spinning forming presently, which improves quality of wheel to a certain extent. NC (Numerical Control) spinning machine has widely applied in manufacture of wheel. But the development of automatic programming system fells behind. According to requirement of spinning process, one NC automatic programming system for a NC spinning machine which belongs to a corporation is developed. Some key technical problems of the system are studied in the thesis. The programming system is based on AutoCAD 2000 platform and Microsoft Visual C++6.0 developing system, using objectARX.Firstly, the general survey of spinning forming and the wheel process is introduced. Then the article analysis the system configuration of NC spinning machine called STU04, which is the object of programming system, and NC system which the machine adopted. The review of NC programming technology is introduced next. Secondly, based on the principle of automatic programming system, and according the actual needs, it carries out the master plan of automatic programming software and designing that. Some problems of the programming system are discussed in the following work: Spinning forming is one kind of plastic forming. The thesis sums up some methods to compensate spring back of vehicle wheel spinning according to the analysis on the deforming process. Getting character information is the process which selects geometric information and technical information according the spinning forming, and inputs them to the programming system. Generating the trace of tool and generating the code is the key part of the programming system which processes the above information, and works according the rough spinning and finish spinning. Machining simulation applies geometric simulation which displays the tool profile on the trace of tool, to check the correctness of the code. Post process should combine and modify the code to suit field processing and send the code to the machine. Lastly, an example of producing wheel is provided, explaining how to use the system. Finally, it indicates the research subjects and direction for the project.This automatic programming system has been applied to the plant, showing friendly interface, easily operation, best reliable NC code. The system acts an obvious role in increasing the efficiency.
