Currently,the domestic spinning machine is only to deal with some simple curve tool path.However,no suitable automatic programming system has been developed to process complex multi-pass tool path efficiently and precisely.Therefore,automatic programming system for CNC spinning machine is developed based on the AutoCAD platform.The system can be easily operated and has a wide range of application.This paper first introduces the historical development of spinning technology,the research results of spinning technology by domestic and foreign scholars,the problems involved in the spinning of special-shaped parts at present,and the development of automatic programming system.Starting from the general point of view of automatic programming of multi-pass curve toolpath,it compares and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of three kinds of automatic programming methods: APT,conversational automatic programming system and CNC graphics programming system.The conversational automatic programming method is adopted to study automatic programming software.The key problems involved in automatic programming of multi-pass curve toolpath and the process of automatic programming of multi-pass curve toolpath are analyzed and the overall design idea is given in this paper.In addition,the development environment of automatic programming and secondary development mode are chosen and analyzed for multi-pass curve toolpath.Secondly,for conventional metal spinning,this paper summarizes and sorts out eight different kinds of toolpath in the drawing module of automatic programming system,which meets the requirements of most of the toolpath design in conventional spinning.In the collecting module of the toolpath programming system,the definition and programming of user-defined toolpath are realized besides eight classical spinning toolpaths.In the right-click trace adding module,the drawing of multi-pass curve toolpath is realized.Aiming at the spinning of special-shaped parts,the path number and path design of the spinning of asymmetric parts with circular section are analyzed and studied.At the same time,an algorithm for obtaining the actual spinning trajectory of the spinning wheel and an interpolation technique for the actual spinning trajectory and the arbitrary curve in the finishing process are presented.The recognition and file storage of different kinds of toolpath information in the system are solved.
