As the key component of the high temperature air combustion, the good or bad performance of the heat regenerator has profundity influence on the promotion and development of the high temperature air combustion. The honeycomb heat regenerator had widely used in the fields of the industrial furnace for its advantage like high specific surface area, high rate of heat liberation and storage, low resistance loss and so on. Now although the honeycomb heat regenerator was widely used in inland, but the intensive study of the heat exchange of the honeycomb heat regenerator is lack, the design of the regenerator had no accuracy basis.The article is based on the thermal state experiments, choose four distinguished type of the honeycomb heat regenerators to study the heat transfer and resistance characters. After analysis of experiment data, the author gets the temperature distributing of the regenerator; the effect of regenerator's operating parameters(like flow rate, switching time, hearth temperature) on the heat transfer coefficient, friction resistance coefficient, amount of heat transfer in the unit, resistance loss, temperature and thermal efficiency of the storage room,the effect of regenerator's structural parameters(like height, hole shape) on the heat transfer coefficient, friction resistance coefficient, the resistance loss and the highest smoke temperature.Combined with numerical study at the same time of experimental study, we had riched the knowledge of resistance and heat transfer property of honeycomb heat regenerator, found out the effect of regenerator's wall thickness on heat transfer coefficient and the amount of heat transfer in unit resistance loss and on resistance loss of storage room; the effect of the storage room's height on preheat air temperature and smoke temperature. Meanwhile, we have verified the effect of flow, reversing time on heat transfer and resistance characteristics of regenerator in theory.
