Still, it is a challenge to control the morphology and alignment of the mesostructure of mesoporous materials, and there is not a serias preparation of such materials. In this paper, by using different surfactants, mesoporous alumina and mesoporous zirconia are prepared through the co-assembly of block copolymer and inorganic sol-gel process, then rare earth ions are introduced into mesoporous alumina and zirconia to prepare luminescent materials. Those materials are characterized and analyzed by XRD, TEM, TG-DTA, gas isotherm plots and so on.Chapter one is exordium. The structure, synthesis mechanism and application of mesoporous materials, emphasis on those of mesoporous alumina, are discussed.In chapter two, the materials, instrument, experimental content, preparation flow, methods of analysis and testing are explained.In chapter three and four, mesoporous alumina and its assembled materials are prepared. In chapter three, preparation factors are researched, such as surfactant and its concentration, reaction conditions and time, heat treat temperature and int. In chapter four, Eu3+ and Gd3+ are introduced into the voids of mesoporous alumina powder as well as Er3+ and Yb3+, and their morphology and performance are discussed. For the first time, the energy transfer of Al2O3 to Eu3+ was observed and the upconvertion luminescent mesoporous material is prepared.In chapter five and six, mesoporous zirconia and its assembled materials are prepared. In chapter five, preparation factors are discussed. In chapter six, Eu3+ and Gd3+ are introduced into the voids of mesoporous zirconia powder, and the morphology and performance of as-made materials are discussed.In chapter seven, conclusion and prospect are presented.
