Two-boom vertical coil clamp are extensively applied in steel factory to convey all kinds of cold rolled steel and hot rolled steel semi-processed products and finished steel roll ,which belongs to special hoisting equipments in metallurgy.The clamp which has complex structure and working peocess easy arises unexpected accidents.So it's of vital importance that studying the mechanical property of the clamp,otherwise,which would lead to destroy equipments or do harm to workers. It's mechanical property is evaluated through numerical simulation and experiment.First considering the loadcase and boundary of the clamp,which structure is simplified by the method of kinematics ,the model which is used to calculate the ratio of holding force and breakout friction is established.Then molding the clamp with CAD software ,the stress analysis of clamp arm is done with the FEA software. Through studying the regular of varity of stress ,the points where the strain foil locate can be found.Thirdly,Setting up different friction coefficient ,the distribution of breakout friction,which is used to conduct the practice,is obtained by the contact analysis of clamp and steel.Finally,using the force sensor,resistance strain meter and dynamic test set to measure the total tensile force , holding force and side thrust force ,the practical coefficient friction and transmission could be got.And then comparing the test data with the calculating one ,the mechanical property of the clamp is obtained.
