As the development of the high speed continuous casting technology,the breakout is still a puzzling problem to perplex the casting operation.Sticker breakout is the most common of all breakouts,which always leads huge losses.In order to reduce and eliminate the sticker,the investigation are centralized in two inspects:one is inquiry the mechanism of the sticker forming,so as to improve the producing conditions;the other is exploit the breakout prediction system,which is to detect the sticker symptom in the mould,then take certain measures to eliminate the breakout.The present research focuses on how to improve the system's agility and prediction precision,also with decrease the false alarm rate.First,based on the measured mould temperature data in thin slab continuous casting,the characteristics of temperature variation and distribution of the mould in normal condition are analyzed.According to the measured samples of sticking events,the characteristic response of the temperature and the process of sticking breakout are investigated,especially focusing on the sticker's propagation along the height and transverse direction.The results can provide guidance for the breakout prediction under high speed casting and design of thermocouples arrangement.Second we established the prediction models based on logic judgment and the artificial neural network respectively.We applied the above models to simulate the production data offline,and made a good progress;also we made a comparative analysis on the two models, which laid a theoretical foundation for the prediction system's further research and improvement.At last we developed software for breakout prediction system based on the thermal imaging technology.This software can achieve the judgments based on logic operation and artificial neural network,and integrated the advantages of all models.We can also detect and analyze the mould copper plates' temperature by the thermal imaging technology,so as to obtain a more directly and accurately result.
