A series of pyrimidine derivatives ligands have been synthesized These compounds have been characterized by EA, IR and UV. Four compounds crystal structures:1,3,5-Tri-2-pyridylpentane-1,5-dione(li),4-(4-Methoxyphenyl)-6-phenyl- pyrimidin-2-amine(2e),Bis(3-(pyridin-2-yl)-2,3-dihydro-indolizin-1-yl)amine per- chlorate(2l)and 2-phenyl-4,6-di(pyridin-2-yl)pyrimidine sulphate have been obtained. Moreover for the four compounds, density functional theory (DFT) method calculations of harmonic vibration, electronic spectra have been performed at B3LYP/6-311G** level. The results of the calculations have been compared with experimental data and they are found to support each other, they provide helpful information for the further studies on these compounds.New complexes have been synthesized with the novel pyrimidine derivatives and characterized some of them by EA, IR and UV. Four complexes {[Cu(I)(pdpp)]+[CuCl2]-}∞(3b),[Cu2(I)(pdpp)I2]∞(3d),[Zn2(pdpp)]Br4(3i) and [Zn2 (pdpp)]I4(3j) (pdpp=2-phenyl-4,6-di(pyridin-2-yl)pyrimidine) crystal structures have been obtained. The crystals have been studied by Mercury and Diamond soft-wares. The datas show that (3b),(3d) and (3i) formed 1D,"Z","S"and helical chains by coordination,metal,hydrogen bond.The fluorescence emission spectra, fluorescence quantum yield and two-photon absorption spectrum of some of compounds were investigated, results show that the compounds and complexes are in the blue band has a strong fluorescence emission and high fluorescence quantum yield. Compound (2l) with a better two-photon absorption cross section forσ= 22583GM, complexe (3j) almost no fluorescence can be speculated that the iodine ion can occur ligand fluorescence quenching.A series of pyrazoline derivatives ligands have been synthesized by microwave. These compounds have been characterized by EA, IR. The biological activities of some of these compounds have been also studied.
