The hot-rolled plate's heat treatment after hot rolling is a key process that improves the property of steel plate.The result of heat treatment will directly affect the internal structure and property of steel plate.A good heat treatment process can lead to high toughness,high intensity and nicer welding property of medium and heavy plates.The plate after being heated is into the forced cooling process,which can improve the internal structure of plate.The cooling media can be gas,solid,liquid and their mixture. Among them,water is one of the most popular media.The plate's quenching is one of the most popularly used methods in heat treatment.The requirement for quenching process is met only when the plate is rapidly cooled to below 400 centigrade from above 900 centigrade.So only depending on forced convective heat transfer can met the requirement. This needs to build the highly efficient cooling devices.When using the water-cooling devices,cooling water is sprayed over surface of the steel plate by using header pipes, air-spray devices and others to make the temperature go down fast.This paper is based on quenching machine design in the heat treatment line of hot rolled strip/plate steckel mill project in Baoshan Iron& Steel Co.,Ltd.,Special Steel Branch.This thesis consists of following of parts:(1)exordium;(2) roll type quenching machine principle analyze;(3) quenching devices modality of medium and heavy plates;(4) quenching machine system design;(5) conclusion and expectation.Pass through discuss between buyer with seller in design checkup phase,confirm equipment form of this quenching devices;three class cooling segment layout in reason;mian driver system mode;need add air-spray devices;power supply system total capability;roll table speed range;control function of basic automation,level 1; control function of process automation,level 2.In this way,this quenching device function and precision can satisfy with quenching technique request of special steel plate.This homemade quenching machine being used into production that will bring profound infection in breaking monopolization of import quenching machine,driving development of quench cooling control technology in our country and advancing national industry.
