With the development of science and higher requirements of operational ability for the army, it is increasingly urgent to improve the quality of weapons. It's so important that we must improve the precision of blanks to improve the products quality and efficiency. Otherwise we can't achieve the purpose of designing products. Recently, researches on the metal plastic forming technology is getting more and more in weapon applied field. Therefore, it has great potential to develop and study.In the paper, the metal plastic forming technology and the development of the precision die forging technology at home and abroad were summarized firstly. The study of precision plastic forming of the case which material was Low-alloy structural steel 30CrNi3A was done through several methods such as the plastic forming theory,FEA,experiments and so on. And the multi-ram precision die forging technology of the case was developed successfully.The structure and shape features of the case were analyzed in detail. To improve the quality and efficiency, the multi-ram precision die forging technology of the case and the technology route were made through analyzing several schemes for forming the case. On the base of calculating the forming force, equipments were chosen. Then adopting the type of thermal coupled rigid-viscoplastic finite element, two schemes for forming the case were simulated with the Deform-3D software. And changes trend of the distributes of the effective stress,effective strain,velocity and temperature in the simulation process were gained. Two schemes of forming the case were compared too. Under the theory analysis and decimal simulations, physical modeling was done. The result of physical modeling is in accord with the result of decimal simulation. So the conclusion can be used for the guidance for the batch production of the case.
