Electrically conductive adhesive filled with silver,as an emerging electrically conductive material, was introduced from its marketing perspectives, formulations and ramifications. In an effort to improve the conductivity and mechanical properties of the adhesive and reduce the dosage of noble metal silver,a series of experiments were implemented to determine the effects of silver filler's morphology on the properties of the formulated electrically conductive adhesive.Herein, three kind of silver particles in nano size were composited into the samples. The effects of sample composition and sample preparation process are discussed, such as the shape and size of silver particles, the selected polymers and addictives, the usage of solvent and so on.Meanwhile the study is trying to find the reasonable mechanism for the conduction process in adhesive and the optimized preparation methods. It is shown that the conductivity would increase gradually when more silver content is added to the sample, but the mechanical properties changes oppositely. At the same percentage of silver, the flake sample can supply the a little bit better conductivity than the nano silver wires. The study also expects that the adhesive properties with nano silver wires could obviously optimise after its worse dispersion problem is improved.
