By analyzing the current electrostatic precipitator (ESP) development status and characteristics of electrode structure, an ESP with spray discharge electrode is proposed based on reforming the electrode structure of electrostatic precipitator dust and to improving the flow of air. In a conventional horizontal ESP, dust come from the airflow into the inlet box ESP. The feature of the design is that the laden gas dust gets into the high voltage vent The pin prick discharge electrodes are disposed around the vent and the discharge stainless-steel needles will generate corona discharge under the high voltage power. Thus, when the dust flows out from the vent with dust-laden air, it is discharged. The charged dusts under the force of the air flow and electric field rush forward to the collecting electrode and are trapped finally. Since the performance of ESP will be affected greatly due to the spray discharge electrode, it is necessary for us to discuss the electric field distribution, the current distribution, dust's electric charges and the movement of the charged particles in this paper.By studying the current electrode configuration,choose the most suitable corona electrode and collecting electrode for spray discharge electrode ESP.Researching the movement of the charged particles in the spray discharge electrode ESP and compare with the conventional horizontal ESP. Proposed the electric field generated by the spray discharge electrode in line with the normal distribution assumption, and based on normal distribution set up the electric field strength distribution model of the spray discharge electrode ESP.Measuring the amount of dust's electric charges of spray discharge electrode ESP through the particles electric quantum measured apparatus with different voltage and changing the distance of corona electrode and collecting electrode. Test results show that:ratio of charge and mass of the spray discharge electrode ESP is non-linear relationship between applied voltage and is proportional to distance of corona electrode and collecting electrode. From the quantitative point of view, the charge-mass ratio of the spray discharge electrode ESP must be less than the traditional ESP, the causes have yet to be further studied. Finally,based on the characteristics of the spray discharge electrode ESP to explore the future viability of industrial applications.
