Salinity and sand in the air of inlet facilities of gas turbine could cause chemical erosion and mechanical erosion, so one of the significant solutions is to remove salinity and sand for the inlet facilities of gas turbine. The combination of multilevel facilities such as inertia stages, net stages is often adopt for salinity, while cyclone separator for sand in the modern amphibian landing craft. Research project was conducted for the resistance and separation efficiency of cyclone separator with different fan models and outflow models as well as different forms of rotation. Moreover, we also use PIV measurement for the analysis of the cause of the resistance.The results of the research indicate that:For the resistance: (1) the influence on the coefficient of resistance caused by the degree of fans is much greater than that caused by the number of fans; (2) with the increase of number and degree of fans, the coefficient of resistance will be improved; (3) the shape of outlet can affect the influence on the coefficient caused by the degree or the number of fans; (4) the rotation of fans doesn't obviously affects the resistance.For the separating efficiency: (1) compared with other factors, the inlet gas velocity would be more important, and the increase of velocity will greatly cause the decrease of separating efficiency; (2) the increase of degree or the number of fans will improve the efficiency, although it is less important than the effect of velocity on it. When the fan rotates in the high speed of the clockwise way, the separating efficiency would decline, which indicates that the rotation causes the influence induced by the degree or the number of fans to drop. While the anticlockwise way of rotation would actively affect the separation efficiency, while clockwise way cause the opposite effect.When analyzing the results of PIV and simulation together with those of resistance, such results can be found: (1) different flow field of outlet can be gained in the different models, although those are quite similar in the inlet region; (2) the increase of degree of fans can cause the outlet flow field more random; (3) the change of degree of fans, can verify the strength and size of the area of eddy in the outlet region, when degrees increase, the strength will grow while the size of the area will diminish, which is a very important cause of the change of resistance.
