With the development of automotive industry, the requirement of surface quality is higher and higher, the time of car-for-type is shorter and shorter. So it require that pay attention to the forming factors of panels, improve the quality of panel forming, reduce the time of die design.The crafts of panel forming are that drawing, clipping, punching, flanging and so on. Drawing is most important for the forming quality of panel. The effective measure to improve the forming quality of panel is that design rational drawing dies and technology.With the fast development of computer hard and soft wares, finite element method (FEM) and computer graphics, the computer aided engineering technology based on numerical simulation is used widely in metal plastic forming field. The simulation of metal forming process can be realized in the computer. The deep drawing and bending of sheet metal forming process can be studied with three-dimensional FEM. The distribution of the stress and strain can be obtained in work piece. The forming laws of the work piece can be predicted. The numerical simulation is a powerful tool for the process design and dies design. In recent years, it is the developing trend of metal forming technology to use advanced methods, such as numerical simulation, to solve the problem in industry. The process of automotive panel and its key process technology are researched in this paper by the way of numerical simulation.Used the theoretical and the finite element simulation method, and combined the CAD software Pro/E and the sheet metal forming simulation software DYNAFORM together, we completed the entire process from the establishment of Automotive Panel 3D model to the finite element simulation. In the modeling process, die face was designed by the use of DFE mold in CAE software for automobile cover; defined the various parameters of the simulation with rapid tools. Using Finite Element Technique, deeply study the Automotive Panel forming process of deformation and impact factors. Using the actual mechanical deformation and flow characteristics of sheet metal forming process as a reference, Analyze and optimize the process parameters and die structure design to reduce cost and time, to enhance the accuracy and reliability.With the technology of parameters template, the second development for automotive panel drawing die is developed. Analyzed structural characteristics of automotive panel die, divided into three modules, Every module was consisted of two sub-modules. With the technology of parametric, analyze the structural characteristics of panel drawing die, design the template of panel draw die. Set the size of the template parameters, associate the parameters by relationships and drive the parameters by the main parameters. Reduce the time of die design and improve the efficiency of die design.
