Rencent researches have demonstrated that electrochemistry offers an attractive alternative to traditional methods for treating wastewaters containing organic compounds. In this frame, selveral anode materials have been tested. The choice of anodic materials depends on high efficiency, reliability and electrocatalysis for the electrochemical destruction of organic compounds.Boron-doped diamond (BDD) electrodes have attracted an increasing attention in electrochemical and environmental application due to their chemical inertness, mechanical hardness and unique electrochemical properties, especially their low background current, wide potential window and high anodic stability. These advantageous properties render diamonds suitable for many new applications. The properties of Boron-doped diamond electrodes also present great potential for electroanalysis of ultra-high concentration organic compounds and, in particular, compounds that are difficult to oxidize, we have become interested in the determination of harmful organic compounds. The choice of anodic materials depends on high efficiency, reliability and electrocatalysis for the electrochemical destruction of organic compounds. The high oxygen overvoltage before water decomposition opens the widest known electrochemical window, allowing the indirect oxidation of pollutants with hydroxyl radicals produced directly in water. In this dissertation, Boron doped diamond film deposited on Ta sheets by the hot-filament method were studied. Surface states of BDD were characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD) and scanning electrical microscopy(SEM). By cyclic voltammetry ,electrochemical properties of the boron-doped diamond thin-film electrode were investigated compared with IrO2 and RuO2 electrode. And advantages and feasibility for ultra-high concentration organic compounds wastewater treatment by BDD are discussed. The electrolysis parameters such as current density, electrolysis time, electrolysis efficiency and solution pH value were studied, so as to determine the optimal process parameters.
