Tetrabutyl titanate as titanium source, and sodium metavanadate as vanadium source, the TiO2/EG and TiO2/V/EG are successfully prepared by exfoliated graphite (EG). This material has adsorbed, and photochemical catalysis performances, which will be a new study on environmental materials.Expanded graphite (EG) was prepared by chemical method. The optimum conditions were sellected as: exfoliated graphite/potassium permanganate/nitric acid/phosphoric acid = 1:0.15:1.4:5.6 (w/w/w/w); acidified temperature: 60℃; acidified time: 80min. Then, This GIC was prepared into the TiO2/EG and TiO2/V/EG. The microstructure and phase structure of EG, TiO2/EG and TiO2/V/EG were observed by SEM and XRD, respectively. Additionally, the effects on the expandable volume of EG were revealed. In this paper, the maximum sorption capacities and sorption time of the of EG, TiO2/EG and TiO2/V/EG for different kinds of oils were determined. The effects of the temperature and viscosity of oil, the expandable volume of EG on their maximum sorption capacities were studied. Also, their absorption and storage states of oils for EG were anlysied. The results showed that their maximum sorption capacities were above 80% within the first 10mins, and saturated after 90mins; Their sorption capacities were increased with the molecular weights, viscosities and temperatures of oils, and the expanding volume of EG, TiO2/EG and TiO2/V/EG. Moreover, under the shining ultraviolet light, the oils can be degraded by TiO2/V/EG. by weighting method. The maximum sorption capacities and saturated sorption time of TiO2/EG and TiO2/V/EG for methyl orange were determined. The effects of doped and inserted amounts as well as calcined temperature on their photocatalytic and adsorbed capacities were discussed. The degraded mechanism of methyl orange was explained from the molecular level. The result showed that the saturated sorption time was 3h. Under the shining visible light, catalytic effect of TiO2/V/EG was significantly elevated. When doped amount was 14%, inserted V amount was 1.5 %, and calcined temperature was 400℃, the best decolor ratio was 65%。...
