Exfoliated graphite is a new kind of carbon nano-material with the excellent performance of anti-high temperature, anti-corrodibility, conductibility and thermal conductance. A new kind of excellent poly-material will be abtained when exfoliated graphite was complexed with other materials.The chemical oxidation composed microwave was used in this thesis to prepare the exfoliated graphite with sulfur-free and high expanded volume. SEM, TEM, XRD, XPS and IR were used to research the appearance and structure of exfoliated graphite. The results showed that the suitable experimental condition of preparing exfoliated graphite was m1 (nature flake graphite):m2 (perchloric acid):m3 (potassium permanganate)= 1:4:0.5, reaction temperature was 35℃, reaction time was 40 min. The expanded volume could reach to 760 ml/g. Exfoliated graphite was worm-like particles and made up of many graphite pieces, there were many pores inside it. The informations about the appearance of exfoliated graphite were investgated by SEM and TEM. The crystallinity of exfoliated graphite was lower than nature flake graphite, the distance of layer of exfoliated graphite was 1.48nm, there were only carbon element and oxygen element in the surface of exfoliated graphite, the function group of C=O, C-O, O-C=O,-OH existed in the exfoliated graphite. These informations were abtained by the spectrum of XRD, XPS and JR.In the flim electrolysis system of cotton, a series of factors which can effect the removal of 4-chlorophenol were investigated when the electrode of EG modified AC/PTFE as cathode, Ti/IrO2/RuO2 as anode, Na2SO4 as electrolyte, such as current density, the concentration of electrolyte, the intial concentration of 4-cholorophenol, the value of pH, the distance of electrode. The results showed that the quality of exfoliated graphite in carbon materal was 20%, the ratio of PTFE and carbon material was 1:4, electrolyte current density was 39 mA/cm2, the concentration of electrolyte was 0.05 mol/L, the intial concentration of 4-cholorophenol was 100 mg/L, the value of pH was 11, the distance of electrode was 4 cm, the removal of 4-cholorophenol could reach to 98.7%.
