In current Chinese lead smelting processes, traditional sintering blast furnace is used in 90% of them. This technology is highly energy-consuming and has terrible environmental pollution. In bottom oxygen blowing method (also known as SKS), the bottom oxygen blowing-blast furnace is adopted to implement the oxidization and replace sintering process, and completely resolves SO2 and lead dust related environmental problems. The process shows small investment, little overall energy consumed and product cost and environmental friendliness.The research is based on energy-saving and emission reduction technology key projects in Hunan Province- as a branch project and engineering model of research on reducing emissions and saving energy for heavy metals smelting.In this paper, the ideology and theory of energy saving system is firstly discussed. Based on the evaluation of energy consumption in current SKS lead smelting processes, the substance flow and energy flow in actual production process situations are analyzed combined with established models. The comparison between actural material flow diagram and standard material flow diagram shows that energy saving potential for enterprise is 74.745 kgce/t. Among all auxiliary logistics, export sales logistics have the most influence on energy consumption, with output and return logistics taking second and external applied logistics having the least influence. Also concluded is that if the lead produced in the bottom oxygen blowing-blast furnace rises by 1% of the total production, the lead consumed per ton will drop by 22.74 kgce/t for the SKS lead smelting process enterprise. From the perspective of energy flow, energy saving potential for the enterprise is 117.42kgce/t; in order to reduce the lead consumed per ton, it is necessary to introduce the energy in high lead slag in bottom oxygen blowing-blast furnace to air furnace in time, so as to reduce the utilization of powders and bituminous coal and make use of waste heat from bottom oxygen blowing-blast furnace, air furnace and fuming furnace.Finally, further analysis and prediction are put forward to improve SKS lead smelting process standard.
