Study On Poyang Lake Wetland Ecosystem Services Value And Eco-Compensation Of The Returning Field In Lakeside Areas To Poyang Lake

As one of the three land-based ecosystems,wetland plays an irreplaceable role in improving the ecological environment and maintaining the ecological balance. However, wetland is decreasing continuously nowadays in China. So, establishment and improvement of wetland eco-compensation mechanism is an urgent problem to realizing coordinated development of socio-economic and environmental and sustainable development.Poyang Lake is an important protected area in China. At the end of last century, farmers return the field in lakeside areas to Poyang Lake in large scales. The project has increased the ecosystem function efficiency of wetland and improved human welfare. However, farmers have lost some benefit in this project. Due to lack of fairness, credibility and easy executed compensation standards, the government compensation for farmers is discontinuous and unsustainable. Therefore, the ecological compensation mechanism and ecological compensation need to be constructed in this area for farmers those returned the field in lakeside areas to Poyang Lake.In this paper, the basic theory of ecological compensation is systematically elaborated and the value of ecosystem services of Poyang Lake wetland ecosystem is calculated by using shadow project method, contingent valuation method (CVM). In the mean time, the location quotient theory is applied in the ecological services. The ecosystem services are classified into dominant and general ecology services. In this paper, we focused on the assessment of ecological compensation study, pointing out that the value of dominant ecosystem services is the basis of ecological compensation. Based on the economic and social development level in the regions which have accepted the compensation, Pearl growth curve (R.Pearl) is used to adjust the value of ecosystem services. By considering the real loss for farmers, a reasonable compensation formula and standards was put forward. At last this paper suggestted the implementation of the eco-compensation for Poyang Lake wetland.
