With the development of the cold rolling strip technology, product quality of cold rolling strip is increasingly get a higher demanded. Make reasonable rolling schedule to take full advantage of rolling mill equipment capacity can reduce energy consumption,ensure accuracy of strip products and achieve the best rolling process. The traditional method of relying on experience to develop a rolling schedule obviously does not meet current production needs. Therefore, study on how to optimize the design of the rolling schedule, that is to get the pressure of the system, the speed system and the tension system according to specific objectives to determine the rolling force of every stage, the torque and power etc. This rolling schedule established more scientific and advanced.In this paper, the research on the theory and test of artificial intelligence optimization of five-stand cold strip mill rolling schedule are implemented based on the engineering practice of the Improvement of hydraulic AGC and electric drive system for a five-stand cold strip mill rolling in a steel plant. First of this paper, a set of rolling mathematics models are confirmed by analysis and comparison which are fit for this rolling mill. To make full use of the equipment potential, the object function of load distribution is made which the rolling force is proportional. And then, the function is solved by Genetic Algorithm and the result is compared with the formerly rolling schedule using the PSO method. The optimized rolling schedule is more rational by comparison.The upper computer system made up of computers have been designed and exploited on the software platform of WinCC. In the part of rolling schedule calculation, the rolling schedule can be achieved on routine algorithm and optimization algorithm, so the functions of the system are more perfect. The result shows that the system has the basic functions of schedule optimization and the rolling schedule optimization system is effectively.
