Due to the unique advantages of step-heating furnace,it has been widely applied in the modern metallurgical plant. It has the following advantages compared to the traditional Pusher-type furnace and the roller hearth furnace: fewer billet black mark, eliminating the slide scratch, higher products quality. Because sticky steel and steel arch does not ouucr, so large-scale furnace can be designed and heating capacity of furnace can be improved. Because walking-beam adopt hydraulic transmission mode, the transmission structure is simpler, the transmission is smoother and it is easier to implement automatic control.Series of research works has been carried out in this paper based on the hydraulic system of furnace in one factory.(1)Stepping movements,mechanical structure and hydraulic system of the furnace has been analyzed, principles of translation hydraulic system and lifting hydraulic system has been researched thoroughly, especially in imported pressure compensation,balanced valve and constant pressure pump. Energy-saving circuit on its weight has been expatiated and the key hydraulic components are selected by calculating.(2)The static and dynamic features of constant pressure variable pump, cartridge-type hydraulic pressure compensation valves and other key components have been analyzed and its AMESim model was built. Finally the whole lifting hydraulic system was built. Compared to the actual characteristic curve, the simulation model was proved correctly. The fluctuation of prime mover speed towards the impact of system was discussed.(3)Energy distribution of the original hydraulic system is analyzed and its inadequacy is pointed out. We derived the formula of accumulator energy storage and study that how the pre-charge pressure and initial volume affect the storage size of the accumulator. Finally,according to the actual situation of the system we designed the energy-saving circuit based on accumulator. the energy-saving circuit based on accumulator is feasible by simulation and the simulation results show that the circuit can really save energy.
