The Key To Ecocrisis And The Construction Of Ecological Culture

Ecological problem has become a more and more serious issue in the social progress, especially after the technological revolution. This report focuses on ecology as its topic and looks into the ecological crises incurred by the economic development in the perspective of social progress. In addition, it tries to figure out the solutions to the ecological problems, with the ecological culture as the entree.This report consists of three chapters. The first chapter starts with talking about the current state of ecological crises. It analyzes the three-level roots of ecological crises on the basis of the phenomena of ecological crises. Specifically speaking, ecological crises are immediately produced by the capitalist mode of production, which is the cause at the first level. In essence, they are the result of the lack of ecological culture, namely second-level cause. On a microscopic i.e. the third level, however, they are contributed to the limitations of human beings.Based on the fundamental principles of Marxism, the second chapter actively explores the definition of ecological culture. It is believed in the report that ecological culture is more an ideology than a letter symbol, which can penetrate into everyone's behavior. In order to promote the establishment of ecological culture, we have to begin with enhancing our perception, systems and behaviors. To get a clear picture of ecological culture, we have to be aware of the fact that it is a concrete subject, which is free from class nature. We also have to bear in mind that it has its own limitations, systems and universality and many other attributes, besides identifying its relationship with ecological civilization.The third chapter maps out the theoretical and practical approaches for the establishment of ecological culture. Low-carbon economy and green GDP should not only be the hot topics of ecological culture, but also the feasible methods of its establishment. Then how to realize this concept? This report states that we should firstly fortify the philosophical foundation for this subject by looking upon ecological philosophy, ecology, ecological ethics and philosophy of Value as our guidelines. On the other hand, we should emphasize strengthening our knowledge system of ecology, trying to inherit the glorious ecological cultures and traditions and find out the reasons why some of these traditions are ignored and undervalued. As is implied in the above suggestions, it is not the lack of ecological culture but the dearth of effective systems to make it work that result in the ecological problems. Hence, an ecological settlement system is put forward, which aims at helping us figure out how to deal with the ecological problems by providing us with relevant data and facts. In the end, this report puts forward, it is quite necessary to promote the education of ecological culture, for it can let people get to know the practical significance of ecological culture. Therefore, subjects such as how to diffuse the ecological culture among the elites and the masses, how to make it comprehended and carried out effectively and how to ensure its inheritance and innovation among the future generations will be discussed。...
