Hydraulic support is the key equipment of mechanized coal mining. The double-telescopic prop is the key component of hydraulic support. Since the currently used design method can not meet the needs of product research and development in modern enterprises, there is of great significance in modern design method research on the double-telescopic prop in the hydraulic support.In this paper, at first, failure analysis of the double-telescopic prop of the hydraulic support is carried out to identify the damage form and its causes. Force is put on the double-telescopic prop of the hydraulic support according to the MT313 standard to analyze the stress situation. Prop balance differential equations are given to determine boundary condition and interface condition. The strength of various parts of the prop is checked, the stability is analyzed and the system reliability is calculated by using the random process theory. Then, by virtue of the Visual Basic language platform, on the basis of prop stress analysis, the strength, stability and reliability analysis software of the double-telescopic prop in the hydraulic support is developed for enterprises. At last, the parametric model of various components of the double-telescopic prop in the hydraulic support is established, and through the UG secondary development, the reverse drive of various components of the double-telescopic prop to the model is accomplished through the secondary development of UG in order to achieve the purpose of the double-telescopic prop rapid design.This analysis software of the double-telescopic prop in the hydraulic support developed on the basis of the research project in some enterprises, has friendly interface and offers reliable results. Compared with the traditional manual analysis, it is more practical, and can be used to solve the practical problems of prop design. The rapid design module of the double-telescopic prop in the hydraulic support based on the UG secondary development is simple, practical and with strong interaction. The analysis software mentioned in this paper and the rapid design system of the double-telescopic prop in the hydraulic support has been applied in the enterprises.
