After entering the 21st century, humans are increasingly dependent on petroleum resources. However, most oilfields in our country have entered high ration of water stage, the extraction of oil has become difficult more and more. As in-depth study of artificial lift way, now there are a variety of machines for the oil companies. Because of improper lifting methods, mechanical oil recovery equipments do not well enough adapt to specific oil working conditions, it seriously affects the design production capacity and design life, and it would seriously affects oil production and increases production costs .Therefore, it is necessary to research for technology and economic appraisal for artificial lift way before installing the mechanical oil recovery, so that the selected artificial lift method is technically adaptable and economically rational, and it will play an important role for oil field to enhance oil recovery, reduce the investment and improve economic efficiency.Around the central topic of how to comprehensively evaluate the artificial lift ways, this paper discusses from the two areas of the technical assessment and economic evaluation. Firstly, this paper analysis research background, research significance and domestic and international present condition, and points out the research content and framework; Secondly, the paper analysis the basic theory related, including the theory of artificial lift in oil fields and the theory of comprehensive evaluation; Again, the paper established technology evaluation system of artificial lift methods,proposed combination evaluation method based on AHP, rating method and the geometric mean. This method is used to evaluate technology adaptation of artificial lift methods of an oil well of eight plant in Daqing Oilfield, and hydraulic piston pumps and screw pumps are three methods of artificial lift; Finally, the paper established oil production prediction model, different ways of lifting formation thickness models and different ways the oil production model, and evaluated the economic benefits of the three primaries with technical adaptability, and optimized the best artificial lift method.
