Gas exploitation and utilization is new topic of energy engineering in china in the future. Gas dehydration is a key part in the process of gas transportation. The purpose of it is preventing the formation of hydrate and avoiding the pipes and valves being choked and promoting transportation efficiency. Since there is a series of disadvantages in the traditional gas dehydration methods, such as complicated system, high cost, enormous energy consumption and the injection of chemicals if necessary. Therefore it is necessary to seek a econmomic dehydration method which contains advanced technology, simple equipment, easy operation. In the recent few years, Nozzle supersonic separating technology has emerged, which is an innovative technology for gas conditioning process, and overcomes the above traditional methods deficiences. This kind of technology combines aerodynamics, thermodynamics and fluid mechanics theories to make a compact gas conditioning process, which is the combination of the hypothermal condensation technology and revolutionary separating technology.Referenced from some design idea of supersonic separator, such as TwisterTM, this paper has accomplished the design of The Nozzle Performance Testing Equipment according to the procedure of project design, process design and thermodynamic calculation. Then, the 3D model was established in Pro/E. And the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software CFX was applied to study the inside flow field of Supersonic Separator by means of Numerical simulation. Thus the variation rule of the physical parameters such as temperature, pressure, velocity, and rate of flow has been obtained. The purpose of constructing the indoor experimental measuring system and designing a series of indoor experimental research programs on the Nozzle Performance Testing Equipment is to observe the real change of the internal flow field on the Supersonic Separator, and to acquire variation law of physical parameters in the separator such as pressure loss, location of shoke wave and so on. And meanwhile the other purpose is to analyse the effect of the separation performance of Supersonic Separator due to the change of geometry by means of combining experiment. At last, a series of methods of improving wet air condensation number have been brought forward according to the conclusion of Numerical simulation and theoretical principle of wet air condensing flow in the Supersonic Separator, so then separation efficiency of Nozzle Performance Testing Equipment will be modified.The research results show that, the separation efficiency of Nozzle Performance Testing Equipment is reasonable, and this kind of separator is characterized by a small volume, it can lay good foundation for the future improvement design of natural gas dehydration equipment.
