Cu nanoparticles are widely used with the properties of catalysis, sterilization, anti-odor, anti-corrosion, etal. However, the preparation of Cu nanoparticles only, reunion and oxidation is quite obvious. This phenomenon can be improved by adding PAN. Due to the PAN/Cu hybrid nanofibers have both polymer and metal Nanoparticles` property; it is particularly concerned by people. The goal of this paper is to use the combination of electro-spinning and hydrothermal method to make PAN/Cu hybrid nanofibers . We choose soluble metal salts (Cupricnitrate), polymer (PAN), reducing agent (ethylene glycol), surface-active agent (PVP), and solvent (deionized water, DMF) as the raw material. Firstly, we prepared precursor solution by sol-gel method; second, we electrospun precursor solution to one-dimensional nanofibers by electrospinning technique; Finally, compound the Cu nanoparticles and PAN nanofibers in situ by hydrothermal process.Samples were characterized by means of using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD), UV-Vis spectroscopy. Characterization results showed that the fibers which have uniform diameter, smooth surface are PAN fibers and the fibers which have a large number of particles generated on fibers surface, are evenly distributed and complete developed, have spherical or rod-like shape are Cu nanoparticles. This indicates the preparation of PAN/Cu hybrid nanofibers is successful. At the same time of using the combination of electrospinning and hydrothermal method to make PAN/ Cu hybrid nanofibers, we can control the morphology of Cu nanoparticles by changing the experimental conditions. We hope that this paper can provide a novel, simple and feasible method for the future research of polymer/metal hybrid nanofibers.
