With the development of numerical control technology, the manufacture has begun to adopt the high-speed cutting(HSC). As a competitive industry, the machining of moulds has to guarantee high dimension precision, strict finish quality, and the swift delivery. In huangyan area for the production of plastic mold, high-speed cutting tools has been used. However, it has not completely improved the polishing-robots or artificial polishing production, which causes low efficiency, difficult guarantee of the quality of surface, as well as various of manufacturing equipment and high costs. This paper analyses the characteristics and equipment of polishing, and adopted a new process model for transparent parts'injection mould surface to guarantee the quality requirements, combined with the characteristics of high speed cutting machine itself using new polishing tools, automatic change of tools(APT) and MasterCam for the arrangement of ploshing path to achieve the cutting-polishing on one machine tool.Theory analysis shows the designed polishing tool with compact structure is suitbale to work on a HMC machine tool, for the effect to the main axis caused by the eccentric force is definitely lighter than the effect of common cutting force. Removal rate of polishing is analysed and the method for calculating the involved constant is given. So, in polishing, it is convenite to decide the procedure, based on the removal rate and the rule of roughness change of polish dilevered by experiment which guarantees the finish as well as the fininal dimensional precision. The deformation of the working part of the polishing tool is well contorled, with two deformation period. And the polishing tool closely contacts the workpiece, with limited deformation and a suitalbe dimention of contact area.Based on orthogonal experiment, according to the main influencing factors, experiment groups are decided. The experimental results were analyzed and compared based on which, the optimum conditions of polishing is chosen, and obtained good results of polishing. The final polishing quality accords with the requirement. The existed disadvantages sush as various epuipment, quality control difficulty, low efficiency is improved and a new choice of mould manufacturing is put forward.
