Ecological City Construction Studies From Ecological Civilization Perspective In China

City is considered to be the symbol of modern civilization, and is the important carrier for Economics and Social Development. With increasingly contradiction of the population, resource, environment and urbanization, there is also some degree of city disease such as water shortage, environmental pollution, traffic jam and housing shortage during the urban development. When human beings are greatly affected by urban construction which brings enormous threaten and harm to their health and survival, they have to rethink profoundly of the urban development and work on a new civilization to guide urban construction. In the modern society, ecological civilization has gradually become the dominate role to change the relationship between human and nature. Under the guidance of the theory of ecological, it is a rational choice to construct an ecological civilization for future urban development. From the view point of sustainable development, this dissertation explores a systematic and comprehensive study on the theory of ecological city according to the relative theory of Ecology, city planning, philosophy and social science. It combines two topics that what is ecological city and how to establish it under the construction of ecological civilization. It sets forth its topics from two aspects. One is how to improve the ecological environment of the city in order not to make the city dirty and source of pollution. The other one is how to realize the harmonious development among human, city and society in order not to make the city merciless and the source of evil. It demonstrates that ecological city is the ideal pattern of human residence to realize. It also advocates ecological values, ecological ethics and ecological consciousness and to build up a system to protect environment consciously and to promote human's development and to create fair, equal, safe and comfortable social environment. The innovation of the essay is combining the new development of city planning with relevant research on ecological civilization. It discusses all-round related questions to achieve sustainable development in the city. The key is applying scientific development to the valuable exploration of city planning and development. With the whole essay, it finally improves the theory that city makes the ecology more dynamic.
