Coke oven is an important thermal processing equipment in metallurgical industry.The heating process of coke oven is a complicated industry process which showed different growth rates and disturbed by various factors that with distributed parameters,is multivariable and nonlinear. Coke oven heating will be direct influenced by the fault and abnormal of coke,even make it unstable and stagnation. Therefore,it's very significant to diagnose the fault and abnormal condition of coke oven while control heating in an early stage.This paper analyzed the Technology of coke oven and some important factors effect on temperature.By implemented using knowledge of Case-Based Reasoning ,we put forth the methods of representing knowledge based on databases and established case database. A method based on coverage to determine the weights of case characteristics are presented based on existing methods. Inference engine of system is designed based on databases, traditional reasoning machine and database retrieval are mixed together. Functional module for heating control of system based on Case-Based Reasoning is considered to develop abnormal condition forecast system of heating of coke oven with VB and SQLServer2000 databases. Predict potential faults and provide diagnosticate results of abnormal conditions to control the heating of coke oven and avoid faults.
