Drill string heave compensation system is vital device of offshore drilling operation.Floating drilling vessels are subjected to sea state induced movements which adversely affect drilling operations.Surge,sway,heave,roll,yaw,pitch are all motions to which the vessel is subjected and while all of these impact upon drilling operations to some degree.Not only the rate of penetration is affect ,bit life is also frequently reduced which in turn results in more round trips and increased costs.To account for the problems associated with heave, floating drilling rigs are equipped with a heave compensation system.First, structure and operating principle of hook constant tension compensators is analysed. Study heave motion with the regular wave, establish dynamic spatial equation of the heave compensation system,on the basic program of matlab .Take "Nan hai er hao" for example, calculate each lumped mass time domain response, study the effect of all the basic parameters, and optimize the parameters in accordance with the effect.At the present time,there are two kinds of heave compensation systems,the paper compares and analyses the existing passive and active heave compensation systems.Mathematical mode and simulation model are set up. The models are simulated and calculated by the means of AMESim. The two kinds of system are analyzed and compared according to the simulation results and precision .On the base of previous work, new drill string compensation system is proposed. Principle is studied, the structure and hydraulic system are designed and calculated. The model is simulated with AMESim. Confirm the feasibility of new drill string compensation system.In order to verify the actual performance of the system, the paper designs and makes an experimental system including structural design and control system design.Through experiments, theory basis and practice basis for the new drill string heave compensation system to improve will be provided.
