As a bibcock production enterprise of automatic winder, Qingdao Hongda textile machinery has been developed the new-style automatic winder with independent intellectual property rights under many years of hard working. At the same time, the preliminary numeralization was realized in this automatic winder. But there are still some shortcomings, such as the splicing quality is not high. Therefore, we with Qingdao Honda textile machinery carried out the analysis and research on the key mechanism of the new-style automatic winder.Based on the summaries of the present status and development of the automatic winder, the kinematic mechanism of pneumatic splicer, the effect factor of yarn splicing and the flow field of splicing chamber and untwisting chamber have been researched by this paper.Based on the theory of transmission, matrix method is used to deduce the equation of relations, the geometric model of pneumatic splicer is established by using UG software, and meanwhile, the module vibration analysis of the transmission mechanism is carried out by using Workbench, a module of ANSYS.According to the experimental data provided by Hongda textile machinery, the effect factors of yarn splicing were analysed by using JMP software.In order to analyse the flow field, firstly the theory of yarn splicing is discussed, then according to the quantitative analysis of splicing chamber and untwisting chamber, their flow fields are analysed by using the CFD method. The parameterized design of the splicing chamber could be implemented by using UG/Open GRIP and the parameters could be corrected according to the results of CFD analysis. The solid model of the splicing chamber could be re-built and updated in a short time. During the design and manufacture of the splicing chamber, the series products could be easily gained especially when only the parameters of the splicing chamber need to change. This results in the decrease of the design cycle. The solid model of splicing chamber established by using UG/Open GRIP can allow the designers to observe the chamber structure in 3D space. Additionally, introducing the UG/Open GRIP technology into the design filed of textile machinery can help designers to evaluate the structure of splicing chamber and improve its design quality, further improve the quality of yarn splicing.
