Energy is the driving force of economic development. The countries in the world developed rapidly after 21 century. Energy waste, energy shortage and so on had become a focus. And energy saving also became an important measure to solve the energy problem. Energy saving in the building field had been an important part in the energy-saving work. Phase change material wall came to people's view as an energy-saving means gradually. Compared with ordinary wall, the phase change wall can not only reduce the indoor temperature fluctuations, improve thermal comfort, but also reduce the energy consumption in the building.This study aims to prepare phase change material wall and analyze its practical application in the building. In this paper, the thermal properties of fatty acid mixtures with different ratio were tested by differential scanning calorimetry to find suitable composite phase change material used for the wall. The stability of phase change material was tested by multiple heat cycle. The shape-stabilized phase change materials were prepared by mixing and melting fatty acids and high-density polyethylene. The stability and uniformity of the shape-stabilized phase change materials were also tested. The shape-stabilized phase change materials and grout were mixed to prepare shape-stabilized PCM wall, and their thermal and mechanics performances were experimentally established. The results can provide reference and basis for the application of phase change wall.
